Your screen stays on your Mac
Seamless Close takes one still image per closing attempt to create its animation. It stays in memory and is released after the gesture or cancellation. A closing image may be kept through sleep for the following opening.
Screen images are never saved or uploaded. Glissform does not continuously record your screen or capture audio.
Optional website analytics
If you choose Allow, basic usage statistics help us understand how people find the website and use its download buttons. We use PostHog’s EU service for this.
- Visits and clicks: page views and which download button you click.
- Traffic sources: the referring website and simple campaign labels. We don’t send full referring URLs, arbitrary query strings or page content.
- A random browser ID: stored in your browser to estimate visitors. It is separate from your app installation.
We don’t use session recordings or advertising IDs. Your choice lasts 180 days. You can change it anytime; choosing No thanks removes the browser analytics ID and stops new analytics requests. The website and downloads work either way.
Optional app analytics
Glissform only shares usage statistics if you allow it. You can manage this in Settings → Privacy & about. When enabled, the app sends these details to PostHog EU:
- A random installation ID, app version and whether this is a new installation.
- Days the app runs and daily counts of Seamless Close use.
- Whether Seamless Close has worked on a new installation, to help measure successful setup.
These statistics help us understand active installations, feature use and continued use. They don’t include screen images, window titles, lid angles, serial numbers, names or email addresses. We don’t measure time spent looking at your screen.
Turning sharing off removes the local analytics ID and unsent counts, and stops new requests. Turning it on again starts with a new ID. Data already received is not automatically deleted.
Counts estimate participating installations, not exact people or every download. App updates aren’t deliberately counted as new installations; resetting preferences can affect these estimates.
Storage and services
PostHog processes analytics for us in its EU region. We disable location enrichment and person profiles, and don’t store IP addresses in analytics events. Like any internet service, PostHog receives an IP address while handling a request.
Your browser choice expires after 180 days. The website removes the old analytics ID when it next checks your choice, such as on your next visit. While sharing is enabled, the app discards unsent statistics older than its 30-day retry window when it next runs or checks for uploads. These local records can remain longer while the website or app is closed.
PostHog’s free plan makes the last year of analytics events available in reports. This reporting window does not guarantee that older data is deleted. See PostHog’s retention information for details.
We use these statistics to improve Glissform and may share aggregate totals, never installation IDs. We don’t sell analytics data.
Our hosting provider also handles the normal requests needed to deliver the website, downloads and update feed. These connections are separate from optional analytics.
Your choices and rights
Optional analytics relies on your consent. You can withdraw it without losing website or app features. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal data, or complain to your data protection authority.
Glissform is developed by George Palkin. For privacy questions or requests, email support@glissform.app. We can help identify records associated with your random analytics ID; we don’t collect your identity automatically.
